Protected customer data: Level 0
Price Sentry is a price-positioning tool. It does not need — and never asks for — your customers' or orders' data.
What we access
- Your own catalog prices via the Shopify Admin API (read_products, read_publications) — the same public prices shoppers see.
- Public competitor list prices from the competitor URLs you choose to track (e.g. eMAG, Altex).
What we never access
- Orders, line items, transactions, or fulfillment data.
- Customer names, emails, phone numbers, or addresses.
- Any personally identifiable information of any kind.
Because we hold no customer data, the mandatory GDPR webhooks (customers/data_request, customers/redact) truthfully report that there is nothing to return or erase. On shop/redact we delete all of the shop's Price Sentry rows.
Storage & retention
- We store your watchlist (product GIDs, your prices), competitor URLs, and the price readings we scrape.
- Access tokens are encrypted at rest (AES-256-GCM).
- Uninstalling the app stops all processing; shop/redact removes your data ~48h later.
Summary
Price Sentry compares public prices. It is classified Protected Customer Data Level 0 and is built so it cannot touch order or customer data.
